The placement of the four gods to promote and encourage positive Kai is an important principle of Feng Shui in Form School, the earliest and most traditional method of Feng Shui. This Feng Shui school focuses on the terrain of the familiar environment to identify the good and bad places of our home. Over the last few hundred years, the use of terrain in Feng Shui has become less popular, especially in the west. In our modern towns and cities, many people find the use of terrain no longer appropriate, so we turned to different ways to promote positive energy at home. But it’s a shame to throw away old ideas altogether when you find a new way. In this article, we’ll look at what you can learn from the ancient Feng Shui Masters and the animals of the Four Gods.
In Feng Shui at Foam School, a positive-minded house should have four celestial animals at each of the four major compass points outside the house. The animals of the four gods, the green dragon, the red phoenix, the white tiger, and the black turtle are represented by the shape and terrain of the environment surrounding the house.
Let’s look at each of these animals individually:
The first animal of the four gods is the green dragon. As the first animal, the green dragon sits east of the house, where the sun rises. The green dragon, which represents spring, brings wealth and happiness to the home. In Feng Shui at Form School, the green dragon is represented by a low hill east of your home.
There is a red phoenix in front of the house. The red phoenix faces south and faces the sun, representing fire and summer. Red Phoenix brings fame, success and new opportunities to your home. The environment in front of the house should be flat or slightly submerged, with lines of energy flowing through it. This used to be a river or stream, but now it can include roads and paths.
Following the movement of the sun, a white tiger sits on the west side of the house. The white tiger represents autumn. The white tiger is represented by a low hill to the west of your home.White tigers prevent luck from escaping the house, so it is very important that there is no sloping ground away from the house on this side of the house.
Finally, behind the house, facing north is the black turtle, which represents winter. The Black Turtle is represented by a high mountain that provides the home with strong protection, support and stability.
When thinking about the placement of homes today, less emphasis is placed on the direction of the four heavenly animals, but on how your home is placed in its environment. When looking at how your home sits, I always think it’s best to think first about how you sit in an armchair. If you are sitting in an armchair, provide good back protection, side support, and an open space in front. Think of your house as sitting in a chair now. This is how your home sits in the environment, protected behind, supported by the sides, and open in the front. In our modern environment, especially if you live in a town or city, finding a natural land shape to provide this support and good luck in our environment is not easy. However, we can create our own shapes, shapes and structures to provide the same protection and well-being that the ancient Feng Shui Masters were looking for when they first practiced Feng Shui.
The side of the house needs some support as it stands with the front door facing outwards. This support can be provided by another house, fence, hedge, tree-lined, or garden wall. Ideally, this support should not be higher or too far away from your home.
Behind the scenes of our house, we want to feel the utmost protection. Ideally there should be a tall structure here that protects our home. If there are no convenient hills or mountains behind the house, it can be another building, wall, fence, row of trees, or hedge. On the back of the house, make this protection at your own height, or a little higher and not too close, so that the house feels under pressure.
Finally, the front of our house should be an open area that is flat or slightly lowered. There should be some form of skyline that can take the form of either a road or a river. If there is a barrier between the front door and the road or river, this should be low enough to overlook.
In the ideal world, this is how our home fits into the plot, but unfortunately we don’t always live in the ideal world. If your home has no natural land shapes and you have little or no opportunity to physically create them, you can use symbols. Always remember whether to use symbolism to put items in place while performing the three secret enhancements.
In the area of the green dragon, plant tall trees and hang wooden wind chimes to stimulate the dragon kai. If you don’t have outdoor space on this side of the house, add something made of wood to this side of the house, or hang a picture with a dragon on the leftmost wall of the house (on the left when looking out of the house). )
In the Red Phoenix area, it is important to introduce movement to stimulate Yan Chi. This can be done by hanging a wooden wind chime or crystal, or by creating a water function that moves to the front. The front of the house is also a good place to celebrate the Red Phoenix by planting red flowers and plants and building a bird table.
In the White Tiger area, it is very important that the ground does not tilt away from the house. If this is the case for your environment, hang a metal wind chime or put a light on the outside area. If you don’t have outdoor space on this side of the house, decorate a photo of a white tiger, showcase a metal sculpture, or hang a metal coin on the rightmost wall of the house (on the right side when looking out of the house).
In the Genbu area, add water and mirrors to this area of the house to stimulate the turtle’s spirit. For maximum protection, make sure the back of your house is private. If you have an open ground on the back, make sure you have privacy. If you don’t have space behind you, hang a photo with a black turtle or a photo of a mountain landscape on the back wall of your house.
We hope this article serves as an introduction to Form School Feng Shui. It is also advisable to look for four celestial animals in your environment.
