How to make a rabbit prevention fence

If you live somewhere outside the major urban areas-even in the suburbs-you probably have a rabbit nearby. And even in downtown areas, rabbits can be a problem if there are small fields nearby. Invading the lawns and gardens of innocent homeowners is the way they tend to survive in these places.

Rabbits that are so cute that they may appear in photos or during Easter time can cause serious damage to lawns, gardens and landscaping. They eat many different plants and flowers, leaving only the roots. However, you can avoid these problems by using a simple and inexpensive fence.

There are two things to keep in mind when planning your fence:

1. Rabbit can dig

2. They can squeeze some narrow spaces

Rabbits are usually found on the ground-they are not digging animals. But they build houses by digging up the ground and creating small tunnels and caves to protect them from the elements. Rabbits can easily dig under the fence if the fence can only reach the ground or just above it.

When building a fence, the best way to prevent rabbits from digging underneath is to bury a chicken wire or mesh fence 6-8 inches below the fence itself.

Another consideration is the spacing of the slats in the fence. Small rabbits can be pushed out through openings that are only a few inches wide, so make sure they are close enough to prevent the slats from passing through.

Material costs have some impact on how fences are built, especially when the slats are closer together, as more fences are needed. If you have a limited budget, chainlinks may be a better choice. The holes in a standard wire mesh fence are small enough to keep out rabbits.

If you want a strut and rail design, but want to keep costs down, another option is to use wider spacing and add chicken wire or mesh to the bottom 2-3 feet. Rabbits can jump fairly high, but they cannot jump to that height and simultaneously squeeze the slats.

If you choose this route, make sure the mesh is not an easily chewable material. Rabbits can chew vinyl or plastic mesh, so choose a sturdy material.

Another option to minimize the cost of your fence is to build a smaller fence, which is the most important area of your garden. For example, you can fence your yard to protect it from rabbits at less cost.

It can also be planted in clovers and other fast-growing green areas to make it an attractive treat for rabbits. That way, you can keep the rabbit away from unwanted places.

Facts you need to know before putting a ferret on the cat tower

If you are like some pet owners, you may have a mixed household of pets. For pet owners who own ferrets, you may wonder if the cat tower is a safe place for ferrets to play. Another concern is whether cats and ferrets can share the same tower. Many also want to know if it’s better to buy multiple cat towers. Ferrets love to climb and enjoy finding special places to hide. They will fully enjoy the small tunnels and boxes that come as part of many cat towers. However, although ferrets are considered intelligent animals, they do not seem to fully understand their height, or more precisely, their height is too high. Due to this lack of awareness of height, it may be a good idea to buy a cat tree on the short side. Ferret owners report that the playful ferret fell out of the unit without injury. Make sure the base is fully seated to prevent it from tipping over easily. There seems to be no conflict with cats and ferrets who enjoy using the same cat tower. In fact, one owner revealed th...
