Recently, there are many ancient civilizations with wonderful aquarium decorations. These include Mayan, Asian, and always-famous Greek archaeological sites. Using any of these will create a stunning scene of the bygone era, creating an atmosphere of surprise and discovery in your room.
One of the ancient civilizations that I personally love to use in tank design is the ancient Egyptians. At least those who have never seen pictures of the Great Pyramids or the towering mighty Sphinx. With the cool and highly detailed aquarium ornaments available these days, you can bring an exact replica of the Egyptian landscape to the aquarium.
In Egyptian tank decoration, there are basically several options. You can create outdoor and indoor scenes, or use Egyptian relics.
To create an outdoor Egyptian scene, use a replica of a huge structure, which is a synonym for Egypt. These include pyramids and sphinxes. Place it on sand-colored gravel to give the impression of being in the desert. If you plan to use plants, they should not be leafy varieties. Java Moss is one option you can look into. For the theme to work, it’s a good idea to place an aquarium background depicting a desert scene. This has a 3D effect throughout the design.
For indoor effects, use indoor structures such as Egyptian columns and pharaoh sarcophagus. Arrange them like an archaeological excavation scene. The gravel is still sandy. You can use Egyptian hieroglyphs or rock faces as the background. Nowadays, you can get a 3D rock background with protruding rocks instead of a flat print. This makes the theme look very real. Do not place plants when indoors, as the theme can look strange. Rocks can also be placed if desired. Make it look like a rock has fallen from the roof of the temple. This simply means distributing them around the decoration. Try not to get the rocks of the river with a smooth face. What you get should look like the bricks that once made up the wall.
Egyptian relics have been newly added to the aquarium decoration scene. The most common thing you can find is an Egyptian vase. It’s just an aquarium decoration, but it’s made to look very real. What I like about Egyptian vases is the holes they always have next to them. These make great caves for fish, and if you’ve been following my posts for the last few years, you’ll know I’m big in caves for aquariums. Apart from the vase, another really cool tank decoration I love is the pharaoh’s bust. The bust is golden and looks very dignified. With these ornaments, it is not a problem to place regular aquatic plants around or use other types of gravel.
The important thing here is that the design needs to look old. It should look like an archaeological photo, such as that published in National Geographic. Scan the internet for images that will help you understand what to do.
