Darjeeling Adventure

Darjeeling, the “land of heavenly lightning strikes,” is one of India’s most beautiful summer resorts. The main attraction of Darjeeling in northern Bengal is the best natural glory with its changing faces in different seasons.

The most attractive way to travel from Siliguri to Darjeeling is the “toy train”, officially known as the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR). Narrow-gauge trains are breathtaking from the railheads of New Jarpaigli to Darjeeling, 2134 meters above sea level. This train is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a favorite of family adventure travelers. The Darjeeling region offers breathtaking views of the four summits of Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu and Lhotse.

The important highways in Darjeeling are Hill Cart Road, Mall and Ladin Road, which are Darjeeling’s hubs. You can enjoy a pony ride around Chowrasta while exploring the city’s colorful markets. The city’s Yoga Choering Monastery has murals of Buddhist gods and beautiful frescoes of the chapel.

At North Point, on the northwest corner of Darjeeling, you can experience the cable car that connects the town to Singla Bazaar (also India’s first passenger ropeway).

You can take a cable car with your family and enjoy a long journey of several hours with spectacular views of the Darjeeling mountains and tea gardens. The Himalayan Mountaineering Museum in Birch Hill has a fascinating contour model of the Himalayan summit. This model will surely tempt you to trek the adventurous Himalayas. The adjacent Himalayan Zoo is also famous for highland animals such as the Siberian tiger, snow leopard and red panda.

Tiger Hill offers spectacular views of the mighty Everest and other mountains of the East Himalayas while capturing the first rays of the sun. Nature-loving photographers can drive from Darjeeling to Tiger Hill, a 45-minute jeep, before dawn.

To the west of Tiger Hill is a beautiful mountain lake called “Sensual Lake”, which attracts many tourists with its beautiful water and blue sky. If you can visit Darjeeling during the picking season (April-November), Happy Valley Tea Estate, just across the town, is a comfortable tea garden for a vacation with a world-class tea.

Darjeeling tea is extremely valuable in the Western market and was quickly regarded as one of the best teas in the world for its aroma and delicacy. That’s why Darjeeling Tea was named “Oriental Champagne”. Darjeeling Luka Hill Council (DGCH) Tourism has introduced a special “Tea Garden Tour” in a tour package within 6 hours of Darjeeling-Hima Falls-Marybon Tea Estate-Chongtong-Bijanabari.
Try a full-day trek on Tiger Hill-Baladerpin (6 km, 2.5 hours trip) or Tiger Hill-Sonada via Chatakpur, return to Darjeeling by bus (15 km, 5.5 hours trip). For longer trekking, you can try the Himalayan experience (8 days guide) or Singalira trekking (8 days). Other adventures are mountain biking in Darjeeling-Cruson-Darjeeling and river rafting on the Teesta / Ranget.

Marula Fruits-African sake for wildlife, or a complete myth?

Are you familiar with the Marula tree? Otherwise, it’s a beautiful African tree that produces wonderful and delicious fruits! Apparently a delicious fruit that intoxicates elephants …? The story goes on for years … it has even become a liquor called “Amarula” for lovers (by the way, it’s very tasty like Baileys)! origin The story dates back to the 1970s (1974 to be exact). A man named Jamie Uys produced two documentaries called “Beautiful People” (he also directed “Gods Must Be Crazy”). In particular, the footage of wild animals getting drunk after eating the fruits of Marula was an immediate hit (and won the highest documentary award). Since then, millions of people are still persuaded that elephants are really intoxicated with such “powerful” fruits! The question is, is that true? Genuine information or complete fallacy? Sorry to disappoint you, but unfortunately (unfortunately) (depending on how you see it ...

Facts you need to know before putting a ferret on the cat tower

If you are like some pet owners, you may have a mixed household of pets. For pet owners who own ferrets, you may wonder if the cat tower is a safe place for ferrets to play. Another concern is whether cats and ferrets can share the same tower. Many also want to know if it’s better to buy multiple cat towers. Ferrets love to climb and enjoy finding special places to hide. They will fully enjoy the small tunnels and boxes that come as part of many cat towers. However, although ferrets are considered intelligent animals, they do not seem to fully understand their height, or more precisely, their height is too high. Due to this lack of awareness of height, it may be a good idea to buy a cat tree on the short side. Ferret owners report that the playful ferret fell out of the unit without injury. Make sure the base is fully seated to prevent it from tipping over easily. There seems to be no conflict with cats and ferrets who enjoy using the same cat tower. In fact, one owner revealed th...
