Ponds with fish make the garden interesting and attract wildlife

Everywhere my family lived, there is a pond with fish in the garden. These were usually dug by myself or the children and gave us all great joy. Most importantly, it provides the wildlife with air and water. Some of the ponds we had were bred with tadpoles and frogs as well as fish. I lay down on the bed at night and relaxed listening to the frog’s bark.

Water is essential for frequent insects and birds during the day, especially during the summer. Serving drinks is much more important than food, as they should always find their own source of nutrition and not depend on humans.

Bees, butterflies, moths and other insects all benefit from the pond. Keeping fish is essential to control the number of mosquitoes. The pump becomes more interesting and keeps replenishing oxygen.

There are also beautiful aquatic plants that can grow in and around the features. In the case of natural hot springs, you can plant them in pots or directly on the bank. However, most ponds are either plastic, rubber, or clay lines and it is not recommended to plant them in these materials.

My pond is usually built into a mound on the side, so it looks deeper than it really is. Beautiful yellow iris blooms in the summer and makes a great show. Hebe and other flowering shrubs bring bees and bees, all of which drink from the facility.

Another great advantage of the garden is the humidity provided by the pond. This allows special plants such as ferns to be housed around the rim, and even moss can decorate strategically placed rocks.

For me, the garden isn’t perfect unless it has at least one water feature. At one point, my garden was dotted with six ponds. In short, it’s a shame not to include them, as they are very large assets that improve the appearance of the garden.

Marula Fruits-African sake for wildlife, or a complete myth?

Are you familiar with the Marula tree? Otherwise, it’s a beautiful African tree that produces wonderful and delicious fruits! Apparently a delicious fruit that intoxicates elephants …? The story goes on for years … it has even become a liquor called “Amarula” for lovers (by the way, it’s very tasty like Baileys)! origin The story dates back to the 1970s (1974 to be exact). A man named Jamie Uys produced two documentaries called “Beautiful People” (he also directed “Gods Must Be Crazy”). Since then, millions of people are still persuaded that elephants are really intoxicated with such “powerful” fruits! The question is, is that true? Genuine information or complete fallacy? Sorry to disappoint you, but unfortunately (unfortunately) (depending on how you see it ...
